From The Great Big List of Things that Make Me Angry:
Genocide Does anyone else find it weird that we have a word for the planned extermination of an entire race or ethnic group? I’m no linguistic anthropologist, but I think it’s a good indication that your society is pretty much fucked when you find yourself in need of a word that describes such an occurrence. Think of all the crazy things we had to come up with words for. Necrophilia - sex with human corpses. Holocaust - massive destruction of humans by other humans. Pedophile - an adult sexually attracted to children. Infanticide - the act of killing newborn infants. We felt we had to come up with words for all that sick stuff, but we’ve never had to come up with a word for giving someone a free slice of pie. I think the world could use a word like that. Pienacious - prone to giving away free pie.
I clearly did not write that; it’s from Angry Man. Today couldn’t have been a better day for me to read this guys rants though.
This morning was unbearably unproductive and overall not very fun. Working and not getting any work done is a terrible feeling. That’s not enough for a bad day though, I’ve learned to cope with that through countless hours of engineering homework. But then there was an unbearably unfun lunch conversation in which I contributed no more than three words topped off with another four hours of pure unproductivity.
To get over my wonderful day at work I went for a run (cough… walk) during which I was nearly pegged with an object from some friendly tourists in a passing jeep. However cool they may think it is to throw shit at a pedestrian, it’s not. And sadly this the second time someone has thrown stuff at me — the first was an egg last halloween in Troy, NY. Neither hit, but I can’t wait for the winner who can aim.
Which brings me to one thing that makes me angry. People that suck. Today my roommate mentioned people that randomly light cars on fire at his school. Those people suck. People that throw shit at pedestrians suck. People that don’t treat waiters with ultimate respect suck. People that look down on others with lesser jobs or education suck. People that don’t respect other people, well, they generally suck.
